Supporting Women's Stories

Bet you never thought that the decision to write a book would catapult you into a tornado of tasks, research, marketing madness, and socializing, all while pulling you far away from your beloved reading and writing sanctuary?

Despite all those ideas that come in waves at 3 in the morning instead of being in blessed REM sleep, when it’s time to finally close all the apps, put away your to-do lists, and write your story, the words don’t just fall onto the screen. How rude.

Something I've learned on this journey that has helped me creatively and to free up some mental space is the art of handwriting. I found I had so many details that I had to call up for the erotic saga I’m writing, or research calling to me while I wrote the perfect first draft, that I could easily lose an hour tracking information down. Losing an hour is simply something I can’t do. Can you? And if I spring out of bed at 3 AM with an idea that won’t let me rest, I need to get it out quickly and hope for at least a 15-minute snooze afterward!

So, I got sidetracked with my plotting series, but it’s been worth it. With my plotting notebook, I outlined two stories within a week. My short story notebook is turning into a treasure trove of bonus epilogues, dual POV and women’s tales, while my world-building notebook is an encyclopedia of names, places, and timelines to keep those pesky plot holes at bay. My workspace is fluid, and I like having the notebook handy to jot down a note or look up a name.

I’ve found that handwriting my ideas helps them flow better. I know they will go through a multi-layer heavy editing process, but the ideas leave my head, and the plotters help organize them into a proper scene structure. The final plot may change but at least I have a direction to head to, every time I sit down to write. With a few stories outlined, I can grab 'this' notebook when I'm feeling 'this' mood and 'that' notebook when I'm in 'that' mood.

The notebooks are on Amazon, but hey, hop on my email list if you want a worksheet to plot your next masterpiece! The following describes the novel writing plotters I have on Amazon.

Book #1
Introducing “The Novel Plotter”. The ultimate guide to navigating the intricate world of storytelling. This incredible tool comes equipped with a variety of worksheets designed to bring your story to life. This resource is like a roadmap that helps you with every aspect of your narrative journey, from characters to plot twists. It includes a worksheet specifically tailored to refining your story after the initial draft. Not only that, but it also provides extra pages to address any plot holes, draw settings/maps/creatures, document your research, and even compile your writing playlist. The best part? It’s conveniently sized to fit in your purse, allowing you to plot and plan on the go.
Once you’re done with your outline, you may find that there are more stories to tell involving your best characters, there are additional worksheets to flesh out those ideas.
To finish your story mapping, there’s space to work on your front matter, back matter, book cover, and spine ideas. There’s also a publishing checklist and writing log sheets. This can be used as an exercise to rework first drafts or pull those partially completed manuscripts collecting dust out of the drawer and bring them back to life.
